In Remembrance
From the Goddards:
"Hello Friends and Family –
It is with a heavy heart that we bring to you the news that
our father, my husband, and our D passed yesterday after his long battle
with Leukemia. He fought a good fight and did absolutely everything in his
power to try to pull through yet another round. His body was just too tired
when he finally let go and passed peacefully with this family and friends
in his heart.
We are holding a remembrance celebration for him on
Memorial Day as we all agree he will love the fact that we will think of
him on every Memorial Day going forward and fondly remember our time with
him on the volleyball court, at a card table, on a job, at the mall,
camping, building, talking and snuggling. We'd like the opportunity to
thank you for the blessing you've been in our lives, especially over these
last few years. We'd be honored if you would join us at:
Georgetown University Hospital Chapel 3800 Reservoir
Road, NW Washington, DC 2007 Monday, May 28, 2012 at 5pm
Mike and Linda Matthews have graciously opened their home
to us immediately following the remembrance at 2229 North Buchanan Street,
Arlington, VA 22207 (from Lee Highway, one block west of Glebe Road). Dad's
wishes were to be buried in his family's ancestral home in Saulsbury,
Tennessee. In honor of our father, we are taking a road trip as a family
and will lay his body to final rest on Thursday, May 31st. Please continue
to remember and honor D by getting your annual physical and donating blood.
He can also be honored by your registering as a bone marrow donor at Be The
Match http://marrow.org/Giving/Ways_to_Give.aspx or, with a
gift to the Georgetown Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center at:

With
love, peace and much gratitude, Sheryl, Ann Marie, Tobey and our families

May God always look over him, the others that we know
from our community that have passed, and all of their families.
